Niels Pagh Andersen is one of Scandinavia´s most influential editors, and a multi award winning one. He started his career in films 16 years old and edited his first film in 1979. He has worked on more than 250 films of widely different categories, mostly in the field of documentary. Besides his work as an editor he has lectured and taught at film schools and universities around the world as well as working as a dramaturgist and supervising-editor. In 2005 he won the prestigious lifetime achievement award, The Roos Prize, The Danish Film Institutes grand documentary prize for outstanding efforts in documentary filmmaking. Amongst his best known films are award winning The Act of Killing and The Look of Silence by Joshua Oppenheimer, The 3 Rooms of Melancholia by Pirlo Honkasalo, Palme by Kristina Linström and Maud Nylander as well as Human Flow by the Chinese artist Ai Wei-wei, which got shortlisted for the Oscars Best Documentary in 2017.
