Troll Twins
Halla Mía
Troll Wall, Skessugarður in Icelandic, is a natural wonder at Jökuldalsheiði in the North-East highlands of Iceland. It is a long pile of huge moraine boulders on top of each other. According to legend it marks the border between troll territories. A folktale tells the story of two troll women who built a wall. One of the trolls lived down by the sea and the other inland, close to the glacier. They decided that on a set day and set time, they would stride towards each other from each end of the land and at the point at which they met they would build a huge wall of boulders; the Troll Wall. The twin sisters Halla and Védís reflect themselves in the story of the Trolls, defining their territory. One summer day they decide to follow in the footsteps of the troll women and stride towards each other, one from the inland glacier and the other from the see, all together a distance of 140 kilometres, and meet on the wall. Troll twins is a story of nature, outdoors activity, twin sisters, and the relationship of twin sisters.
