Cowboy of The North: The story of Johnny King

An old Icelandic country singer at a crossroad in his career and life tries to get back one last time in the saddle. Meanwhile he has to reconcile with his difficult past which is always hanging over him like a shadow.

The film captures a painful experience with courage and respect. It works admirably with the viewer’s expectations so that the story takes on a deeper meaning when the subject unexpectedly takes control of their own story. The viewer is left with big questions about the impact of trauma, success, masculinity, and, last but not least, the search for happiness.
