Dreamland
Þorfinnur Guðnason & Andri Snær Magnason
Dreamland is about a nation that has built all its infrastructure and has all the opportunities in its hands, but decides to turn the country into one of the largest metal smelters in the world. To do this, it must sacrifice its unique nature and expand its economic system to the utmost. On the eve of the collapse of the Icelandic economic system, the largest construction project in Icelandic history was undertaken. The scale at the time was revolutionary. Foreign labor was brought in to build the largest dam in Europe and the energy price was kept secret. Dreamland describes an innocent nation that attracts forces and companies with dubious reputations and a tragic trail of destruction behind it.
